Water to Wastewater: A Journey from A to Z

This 6-hour course will focus on a variety of topics related to drinking water and wastewater.  The intent of this course is to provide 30-minute mini sessions on the following topics to give participants a high-level overview of a variety of topics including regulations, licensure, water quality standards, water supply, master planning, cross connection control, pumps/motors, laboratory, drinking water treatment, pretreatment, collections, and wastewater treatment.

This course has been approved for 0.6 DW-WW CEUs. There are 40 seats available.

Training will be at City of Meridian Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility located at 3401 N. Ten Mile Road, Meridian, Idaho 83646.

Course Agenda:

  • 8:15am - 8:30am- Sign-in, introduction

  • 8:30am - 10:00am (1.5hrs)- Regulatory Updates, Water Supply, and Backflow Prevention

  • 10:00am - 10:15am- Break

  • 10:15am - 11:45am (1.5hrs)- Water Treatment, SCADA, Laboratory Methods

  • 11:45am – 1:00pm- Break (Lunch Provided)

  • 1:00pm - 2:30pm (1.5hrs)- Licensure Process, Facility Master Planning, Water Quality Standards

  • 2:30pm - 2:45pm- Break

  • 2:45pm - 4:15pm (1.5hrs)- Pretreatment, Sanitary Sewer Overflows, Tertiary Treatment

  • 4:15pm – 4:30pm- Certificates, Final Remarks
